Joe Fresh | Hangtag Redesigns for Down Apparel

Last fall/winter Joe Fresh used these hangtags on their puffy down vests for their womenswear line. I've chosen to revamp and redesign them, experimenting with both a vertical and horizontal layout. Once I started I just couldn't stop, lol. Man, I love me some design.

The first image is the hangtag used for fall/winter 2010 and the second are my redesign ideas.

Joe Fresh | Price-Tag Redesign Ideas

The first four redesign ideas in the second image were designed while thinking about if the brand released a limited line, or an item for a special occasion. I was thinking they could also be used for lingerie due to the flowy and feminine feel.

The additional four are my take on the actual Joe Fresh price-tag in the first image.

575 Jeans Web Rebrand (Round 2)

I wasn't entirely satisfied with the previous web design image so I decided to consider other options, the first two being my favourite. I was thinking that if the site were in existence, the second image would appear or fade in when the cursor is over top of the first image.

575 Jeans Web Rebrand

I've previously rebranded the jean company 575 Denim to 575 Jeans by upscaling their logotype and print material such as hangtag and shopping bag. I've recently completed a new webpresencefor the brand, as well. These are not official rebrand designs, they were completed to enhance my portfolio.

Salvagery | Hippie Retro Handmade Jewelry Design | Etsy Online Shop Launch

Just launched an Etsy shop for my jewelry design project Salvagery: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Salvagery?ref=seller_info.

I started Salvagery in the summer of 2010 when I had the idea to design jewelry using recycled silk fabric and various found objects. I wanted to make them colourful, environmental, and affordable. The product in itself can be described as hippie retro for the modern era.

After the successful sale of many Salvagery products during my final year of the Illustration program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, I decided to take the brand further and reach a larger audience of those interested in the same principles and sense of design that is Salvagery.

I’m very excited to share my handmade silk designs to the world.

Tumblr | the GazettE - TOXIC (CD Cover + Package Design)

I have a tumblr account now!

At times when I post, the image quality decreases quite a bit on the files uploaded through blogger, so I've decided to post those on Tumblr.

I have most recently updated my tumblr account with a new CD cover + package design for the GazettE's upcoming album TOXIC.

the GazettE - RED | CD Cover + Packaging Re-Design

CD cover/packaging re-design of the three-track single RED by the Japanese rock band the GazettE. They will be releasing their 5th full-length album TOXIC in October and in celebration of that I thought I would do a bit of a re-design for one of the albums' singles.

AN UNBEARABLE FACT is such an awesome song. Go and listen to it. Now.

Experimental Work | Large Scale Drawing & Painting

These experimental life drawings and paintings were done in my third year in the Illustration program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning. I loved the approaches and techniques I used within' this course and applied many of the textural elements in later works. I never got around to posting them due to their large size. (some as large as 55" x 40")

Fourth Year Illustration | Process Journal

During fourth year Illustration at Sheridan College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, I kept up a process journal where I drew anything I could think of at certain moments, and wrote many notes and inspiring lyrics. It was a fun way to experiment and let loose.

Painted Textile Illustration

Finished painting the textile illustration I posted previously. I had the idea of creating a background texture with coffee stains to connect with the cappuccino and caffe latte symbols in the pattern.

Fashion Illustration | Lookbook & Catalogue Design for Banana Republic

During my final year of the Illustration degree program at Sheridan, I took it upon myself to use a great deal of the skill I learned during my internship at Snoflake Fashion and Futurstate, and create a lookbook and catalogue for the clothing company Banana Republic, owned by Gap Inc.

I chose this as I am a big fan of their pieces and interior store aesthetic. I love the branding of the company, but I chose to tackle re-branding the company for a specific season. I created this project in the Visual Narrative course during second semester. In doing this I was able to keep my thesis cohesive, while branching off into another direction of fashion: design.

For this project I designed a new logotype, contrasting the fine and refined with the rough and rugged. I loved this contrast, especially the earthy feel of the backgrounds and logotype, tying it in to the travel-like amazonian aesthetic the brand first started out as.

I created technical flats, garment narratives, traditional fashion illustrations representing characters for certain garments, as well as hangtag and shopping bag design.

This lookbook/catalogue was printed and bound and available to flip through during the 2011 Sheridan Illustration grad show in April. The physical size is 8" x 6".

Fashion Illustration | Flat Sketches

I created many technical flat illustrations for the Toronto fashion studio Futurstate in summer of 2010. It was a great experience and I learned so much through researching flat sketches and the fashion industry as a whole. It also gave me the opportunity to to hone my Adobe Illustrator skills and become very confident in my use of the program.

Here is a sample of a handful of flat sketches I created:

Fashion Illustration | Textile Design

I've been doing a lot of sketching lately, trying to come up with some textile designs. I decided to go with this one and made this refined sketch. The inspiration was from my recent trip to Italy. Time to paint!
